Fondue Gondola
In 1978, one of the great construction projects of the last century went into service in Grindelwald. At that time, the gondola cable-car from Grindelwald Grund up to the Männlichen was the longest monocable gondola lift in Europe, at over six kilometres long.
By the end of March 2018, the old cable-car’s days were numbered. The new gondola cable-car was officially opened in December 2019 and went into regular service on 13.12.2019.
The Sunstar Hotel Wengen managed to buy one of the legendary original gondola cabins at auction, and so the Fondue Gondola No. 100 was born.

In gondola "No. 100", we present another of Wengen's gastronomic highlights - the unique Fondue Gondola, the perfect setting for a romantic tête-à-tête!
We have the pleasure of serving you:
- Three different fondues
(Simple fondue, fondue with mushrooms & truffle oil, fondue with tomatoes & herbs) - One bottle of white wine (Sunstar Fendant, 700 ml)
- Schnapps (2 x Kirsch, 2 x Williams Willisauer, each 20 ml)
- Water (mineral/mountain spring water)
